1- Why can’t I access certain sections of the Association’s site?
Certain sections of the site are available to registered members only. These include: the genealogical data base, the old photo section, previous Newsletters, archive data and DNA research data on the Levasseur family.
To access these sites you must be a registered member. To become a member, click on «Join the ALA» on the web site. Registered members receive all pertinent data on the Internet and have access to all sections on the Levasseur site. The cost for a one year membership is $20.
As a member, you will be identified with a specific access code. Should you have any difficulty accessing any sites on the data base, please contact our webmaster at webmastclearly stating your problem.
2 - I am a registered member but I have problems connecting with the data base. Four possible causes:
- The E-Mail address you are using to access the data base must be exactly the same as the one used to become a member. Your E-Mail address is your «user name» to access data available to members only. If it has been changed, we must be notified. To notify us of an E-Mail address change, notify us by E-Mail. The appropriate changes will be made and you will be able to access to all sections reserved for members only.
- Accessing the section reserved for members is very case sensitive. The verification process distinguishes between the use of upper and lower case lettering. Your E-Mail address must be in lower case only. For example the address «louis_felix@gmail.com» will be recognized but not «Louis_Felix@gmail.com»..
- Your membership renewal is past due. You must re-subscribe and pay your membership fee to regain access to reserved sections for members only.
- Exceptionally there may be a problem with the server. If that were to be the case try again at a later date.
To access the Data base, follow the following steps on the Association’s Web site
Identify yourself as a member in the lower left window.
Click on the link «Member» in the lower left.
When your ID is validated, this window will appear. Click on the appropriate link.
If your ID is not valid, this message will appear. Check to make sure you have correctly identified yourself.

At this step you must re-enter your identification code because the data base is secured in an auxiliary server.
This second identification is required for security reasons. Do not forget that E-Mail addresses are lower case sensitive.
The «Window» (for friend or wizard) is only for administrators of the site.
