The Levasseur Association hopes to reunite a large number of Levasseurs, descendants of Pierre his brother Jean and Laurent who settled in Québec in the 17th century. The gathering will be at the Community Center, Arthur-Buies located at 387 Passereaux Street in Rimouski, Québec.
Visitors to Rimouski, on that Labour Day long weekend, can also attend a great Jazz festival that attracts amateurs and seasoned participants from various locations in Quebec, Canada and the USA. The Jazz festival has become a great cultural and tourist attraction in Eastern Quebec and has been growing for the past 25 years. Rimouski is located along the Saint-Laurence where the Atlantic begins and where the mountains rise in the background.
There will be many genealogical activities, a dinner party and opportunities to socialize during the weekend. Levasseur families from regions of Pohénégamook, the Lower St-Laurence, New-Brunswick, Ontario and Eastern USA are all invited to this family gathering. Regional gatherings are an excellent opportunity to share information about our respective Levasseur families, establish family ties in an amicable and friendly ambiance.
